“Imagine the life of a beautiful woman for a moment”
“Ever since she was little, she’s been told…”
I was trying to find a Carlos Castenada quote on the internet but to no avail. Its about how difficult it is for a beautiful woman to overcome her self importance because everyone worships her for her looks. Im pretty sure this short snippet I found is the start of it. If anyone knows the rest it would sooth my weary heart.
From Mothsdream -
"hi there.
not sure the exact thing you're looking for, but there is a rather long
passage in "The Eagle's Gift"where Carlos meets Florinda. Florinda tells
him basically how she came to be a part of the sorcerer's group and her
story makes reference to "the demon" of beauty. In the passage, Florinda
states that, "beauty is a demon which breeds and proliferates when admired."
She claims that some of the most beautiful people are really wretched
inside... "Try them. Be unwilling to go along with their idea that they are
beautiful, and because of it, important."
anyway, this is what i thought you might be referring to. if you have the book, the passage begins on p. 271."
That could be it, certainly the same topic. You see I know a very beautiful young lady and shes very sweet but at times she doesnt treat people in a way that she would like to be treated, and if I mention this subject she simply doesnt hear, theres a wall. Well humans are like that, we can argue about God for millenniums but when you ask an arguer for a definition of the word they just change the subject. Some subjects are so threatening to the ego that the ego can actually block peoples ears.
